[RECAP] Cope Acidic EP Release Show at The Laundry Room 3/7/26

Cope Acidic had their 'Houses of Trade' EP release show at the Laundry Room, a DIY basement venue, on March 7th, 2026. It was a blast! They were joined by Amphibaphobia and Your Own Knife.

The Venue

We've had a couple shows at the Laundry Room, but this was the biggest and loudest one by far. It takes a bit of time for a new DIY venue to gain a reputation, and we hope that the Laundry Room becomes a name that attracts large crowds regardless of whom is playing.

We made some adjustments to the stage setup in preparation for the show. We pushed out the front speakers, removed the floor monitors, and scooted the mixer forward to create a more defined 'stage' for the musicians.

Lighting also got a huge upgrade. The last show saw us move the stage into the corner from the indent on the other side. This gave us more room, but we didn't prepare any lighting. The stage was incredibly dark (oops). This time we added a couple lights to allow the musicians to see what the hell they're doing. We will be adding more.

The Bands

Amphibaphobia started the night off right. A loud punk 2 piece. They look emo, they sound emo, but I don't think they like it when I call them that. Their vibe is impeccable. We got their demo CD in the store.

Next up was Your Own Knife. Their members are split between Omaha and Lincoln. A good ole Post Hardcore band that has the energy of an At The Drive In show. Holy moly. My favorite song of theirs is 'Stuck'. Alex, the lead singer, grabbed my head so I could scream in the mic to that one (kinda like this photo).

Cope Acidic

These guys are tight, unbelievably so. I wouldn't be surprised if their album was recorded live (it wasn't) because of how similar they sound to it. Cope Acidic captures a certain energy that makes you want to flail about. Listen to their EP Here and get a physical copy from us Here

Prologue

This article was written back in March (after the show) back when our 'article creator' was in its infancy. It's taken the last 3 months to work out the kinks and get it in a usable state. Expect more articles from us soon :)
